Description

Job Summary: Ensure the safety and security of people, property, and assets at assigned location. Responsible for maintaining a secure environment by monitoring for potential threats, responding to emergencies, and enforcing rules and regulations.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

* Patrols premises, both on foot and using security vehicles, to deter and detect any unauthorized activity.

* Uses various surveillance tools, such as cameras and monitoring systems, to keep an eye on activities within the facility.

* Identifies suspicious behavior, potential threats, and violations of security protocols and recommends improvements to enhance security measures.

* Checks identification, searches bags, and ensures that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas to prevent potential security threats.

* Responds to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, and security breaches and coordinates with other agencies during critical situations.

* Uses de-escalation techniques to defuse tense situations and maintain a safe environment.

* Documents incidents, suspicious activities, and other relevant information in detailed reports.

* Responds to alarms triggered by security systems and investigates the cause of the alarm and takes appropriate actions.

* Provides customer service by assisting visitors, giving directions, and providing information about the facility's rules and regulations.

* Maintains and ensures the proper functioning of security equipment, such as cameras, alarms, and access control systems.

* Escorts individuals off premises when necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2 years of previous experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.

* Strong multi-taking capabilities and organizational skills.

* Works effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality.

* Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

* Ability to work with law enforcement agencies as necessary.

* Basic experience in Microsoft Office products.

* Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Work Environment:

* Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

* Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods.

* Requires working in seasonal hot and cold temperatures and exposure to dust and chemical fumes.
