Upper Darby Township is actively recruiting for a full-time Code Enforcement Officer/Inspector. The incumbent will perform work involving plan review and site inspection of commercial and residential facilities. In compliance with the PA Uniform Construction Code, Township regulations, the incumbent will perform work that includes but is not limited to building inspections, permit application, report preparation, and record keeping.
This is a full-time position with a base schedule of Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm (with an hour unpaid lunch break).
Code Enforcement Officers/Inspectors are must have knowledge of pertinent construction codes, ordinances, laws and regulations pertaining to zoning, nuisance abatement, property maintenance, building, safety and related areas. This will require the ability to independently interpret and apply applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
