Upper Darby Township is Hiring a PT Code Enforcement Officer Near Upper Darby, PA

Upper Darby Township is actively recruiting for Code Enforcement Officers who are interested in growing with the position. The incumbent will perform office and field work involving the inspection, investigation, and enforcement of applicable codes and ordinances pertaining to nuisances, zoning, construction, parking, and related quality of life and public safety issues. Code Enforcement Officers should be fair, honest, impartial, and act in good faith in all his/her dealings with residents and contractors.
This is a part-time position that is expected to work 30 hours per week. The tentative schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 5:30pm (with an hour unpaid lunch break) and Saturday 9am to 1pm. There is room for some flexibility with this schedule.
Code Enforcement Officers must have knowledge of pertinent codes, ordinances, laws and regulations pertaining to zoning, nuisance abatement, property maintenance, building, health and safety and related areas. This will require the ability to independently interpret and apply applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
