JOB DESCRIPTION
Assistant Director of Instructional Support Services
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This administrative position has the responsibility for oversight of the District’s K-8 MTSS program. This person is responsible for planning and articulating the direction the district needs to take in order to continue to advance our MTSS program at the K-8 level. This person will also demonstrate excellence in written and oral communication, planning and organization, and the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data. This position works collaboratively with others to oversee, develop and transform the academic program.

Director of Student Support Services
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
MTSS Coordinator
Assist district and school administrators in the implementation of MTSS
Supervise and evaluate Reading Teachers in all elementary schools ?
Work with the ELA and Math Supervisors to evaluate data in i-Ready and how this relates to any curricular revisions or modifications
Attend all K-5 Math and ELA cabinet meetings
Work with the K-12 Supervisor of Counseling and Social Work and the Assistant Director of Special Education to utilize data and develop systems of support and accountability.
Oversee and analyze student achievement data associated with MTSS utilizing the District’s student management system
Establish criteria for support services
Utilize data to allocate human resources
Use this data to assess student performance related to curriculum and instructional resources
Collaborate with building principals to provide coaching and assistance to classroom teachers and MTSS providers in schools to improve student achievement.
This includes:
Helping teachers to use data effectively and efficiently (i.e. i-Ready Connect online portal)
Helping teachers develop and implement classroom-based instruction for Tiered Interventions
Evaluate, purchase, distribute, and provide support for intervention materials
Work directly with school administration and building MTSS leadership to evaluate the District’s MTSS protocols within the state parameters
Attend MTSS meetings, conferences, and workshops
Ensure the District’s MTSS Plan is current
Provide professional development that supports best instructional practices
Attend and assist building level data team meetings to ensure consistency in the placement of all MTSS students
Summer ELF (Early Learning Focus) Program Coordinator
Coordinate, facilitate, and supervise the six-week program
Assist with identifying participants
Assist with hiring staff
Collaborate with teachers to develop the curriculum
Communicate with parents and families
Collect and analyze data
Other Duties
Serve as a consultant to all faculty, staff, and administration regarding the 504 accommodation process.
Assist with classroom observations, serving as the independent evaluator
Attend Instructional Leadership and Elementary principals meetings as needed
Establish effective communication and maintain positive relationships with district administrative offices, students, staff, parents, and the community
Work collaboratively with all staff to strengthen the instructional program
Assist the Academic Cabinets in the development, implementation, improvement, and evaluation of the instructional program ensuring conformance to state standards, the District’s mission statement, and Board of Education goals and Policies.

federal and state laws and regulations related to Student Services, including but not limited to the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA), NYSED regulations for special education, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.
