General Job Title: Accountant

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities: The accountant is a mid-level accounting professional who will assist the CFO within the Accounting Department in relation to all accounting systems, month-end closing reports and general ledger reconciliation. The position will record all business transactions and retain all accounting records. The accountant will post, verify, and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, payroll, or other ledger accounts and will prepare statements, invoices, and vouchers, and assist in preparing financial reports. This position also manages and processes payroll for all associated companies.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Invoicing
  • Month end close procedures.
  • Credit card reconciliation.
  • Bank statement reconciliation.
  • Reconciliation, recording & processing of Checks & Accounts Payable
  • Creating, Reconciling, recording of invoices and Accounts Receivable
  • Recording & Filing various States sales taxes
  • Payroll processing for all companies within the group, through ADP and Paycom payroll systems.
  • Setting up new employee profiles within the payroll systems. ADP/Paycom welcome info and onboarding module.
  • Training employees on the payroll systems employee online self-service portals. PTO requests, updating personal information.
  • Linking Payroll to Voya 401k plans. Funding of each participant 401k plan each payroll.
  • Setting up payroll deductions.
  • Funding state unemployment based on payroll.
  • Recording of payroll into Accounting System

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  • The minimum level of formal education that is required to perform this job satisfactorily.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance related field from an accredited school.

Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:

  • 3-5 years verifiable experience
  • Knowledge of payroll processing systems. Paycom and ADP a plus.
  • Previously worked with Microsoft Dynamics Navision & QuickBooks & Power BI.
  • English- Speak, write, and read.
  • Independent Worker
  • Organized with excellent project management skills.
  • Able to multi-task within a changing environment
  • Dependable and can work with minimal supervision.
  • High knowledge of Microsoft office suite
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Working Conditions:

Physical surroundings: Office environment. Working with office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, faxes, postage, marketing materials, and scanners.

Adverse working environment: Minimal. Temperature changes, some minor noise from office equipment.

Physical Effort: May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Extended periods of computer and phone use. May be required to lift parcels and packages up to thirty pounds.

Domestic/International Travel: May be required at times to attend outside meetings and visit other office locations. Air travel might be required.

Hours: Normal work week is Monday through Friday 8:00am until 5:00pm but occasional after hours or weekends may be required due to business demands.

Work Location: This can be an office, work from home or hybrid position.

Comply with all Information Security Policies, processes and procedures as issued, or updated from time to time. Non-compliance with any policy, procedure or process will result in the company having to enforce its disciplinary process.

You are required to report any suspicious or irregular information security type events to your manager or the Head of IT.
