Dynavac is in search of a talented Machinist who is highly experienced with utilizing milling machines, manual lathes, and grinders to create metal parts that meet very high tolerances. Experience with Bridgeport Prototrac milling machine is requested. You are skilled at following blueprints, written job specifications, and oral and other written work orders. Your high focus on quality produces successfully completed tasks. The successful candidate will have the skills and initiative to work independently and as part of a talented team.

Dynavac, located in Hingham MA (south of Boston), is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment for a range of applications that include aerospace testing and thin film coatings. Work orders are project based, typically unique, and range in size and scope from < $50,000 to $5MM . Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines including:

• Design and fabrication of medium to large scale pressure vacuum vessels
• Design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems
• Field integration of shop-built components

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS*

• Performs typical machine shop operations to support the manufacturing staff.
• Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.
• Ensures that machined parts meet customer quality specifications and Dynavac internal requirements.
• Follows written job specifications precisely.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs prescribed preventive maintenance on machines as required.

• Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to carry out complex, detailed, written and oral instructions
• Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding and all bench operations and inspections
• Must be familiar with basic machining functions required to perform the tasks stated above
• Basic computer literacy

The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
