Notre Dame Academy, Hingham, Massachusetts--an all-female college preparatory middle and high school educating students in grades 7-12 is seeking a full-time (12 month) , 1pm-9:30pm Custodian/Facilities Technician. Notre Dame Academy is a vibrant, Catholic learning community, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The Academy guides young women in their personal faith formation, challenges students to pursue academic excellence, and encourages social responsibility on behalf of global justice. Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Custodian/Facilities Technician will be responsible for performing custodial duties along with general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, in addition to performing grounds work and cleaning/disinfecting work around the school campus. *Hours are subject to inclement weather conditions, scheduled events or other emergencies that take precedence. Employees may be asked to work outside of scheduled shifts (nights/weekends) when needed.Components of Responsibility •Performs routine custodial tasks as assigned by Facilities Manager•Work with Facilities Manager to support athletic event needs.•Reports and responds to emergency calls for cleaning/maintenance assistance.•Assist with fire prevention inspections and drills. •Implements the set up and take down of furniture and equipment.•Assists in preventative maintenance for building mechanical equipment.•Perform minor building HVAC, plumbing, electrical and cosmetic repairs, and upkeep as necessary.•Ground upkeep (mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, sprinkler upkeep, seeding, fertilizing, spraying, snow removal, etc.) •Responding to miscellaneous faculty request and needs as they arise •Other tasks assigned by Facilities Manager and/or PresidentQualifications•Two years of custodial and or building and maintenance experience•Snow removal and landscaping experience preferred. •Valid Driver's License•Able to work professionally in and around school community members. •Able to work in various environments, indoors and outdoors (during inclement weather)•Able to perform physical and manual labor – lift 50 lbs.•Understands and carries out oral and written instructions. •Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, while working independently with minimal supervision.•Must be physically able to safely perform the various tasks required in accordance with OSHA regulations.•Willing to work overtime hours during the week, or weekend, and stay late occasionally for school events as needed.•Firsthand knowledge and experience in the safe operation of a variety of tools, machinery, power equipment, etc.•Pass a criminal background check – CORI, SORI, and fingerprintingBenefits:•Competitive pay•Medical, dental and vision insurance•Employer-paid life insurance and disability insurance•403(b) plan – employer match•Paid holidays, sick and personal time•Flexible spending plans for both medical and dependent care*Notre Dame Academy seeks to create a working and learning environment that reflects the society and community in which we are located, and we actively encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply.
