Hours: 1st shift, full-time (40 hours/week). Must have weekend and holiday availability.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
- Meat cutting experience is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Friendly, outgoing and positive attitude is important in this role.
Job Duties:
- Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Greets customers and provides them with prompt and courteous service or assistance as needed.
- Assists in checking and verifying the Meat Department receiving's when necessary.
- Assists with weighing and breaking down meat products.
- Takes products to refrigerated storage or shelf areas.
- Ensures that all meat cuts are properly trimmed and attractively presented.
- Ensures that product pricing makes adequate allowances for tare weights and shrink, as applicable.
- Prices and displays product cases as directed by Department Manager.
- Assists in wrapping and labeling product as required.
- Rotates all of the products in accordance with department policies and product code dates.
- Assists with scheduled inspections of packaged products for freshness and for visual appeal, pulling products for re-wrapping as required.
- Checks refrigeration equipment regularly for proper temperatures and performance.
- Takes care of damaged and spoiled products according to department procedures and takes positive action to control shrinkage.
- Maintains a regular and effective housekeeping and sanitation program that meets all of the standards established by the department and all applicable health regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
