Precision Measurements is Hiring an Avionics/Calibration Technician Near Fort Walton Beach, FL

Position General Summary
Full-time, 40 hours a week. Daily performance of calibrations, testing, and avionics checks both directly on aircraft and the calibration of test measurement and diagnostic equipment The work will be performed primarily at the Precision Measurement Fort Walton Beach Florida location but may include onsite locations in both Conus and OCONUS.

PAY BY LEVEL OF EXPERTISE AND EDUCATION:

  • Avionics/Calibration Tech 1, Intern: $17/hr. - $23/hr.
  • Avionics/Calibration Tech 2, Journeyman: $24/hr. - 27/hr.
  • Avionics/Calibration Tech 3, Supervisor: $28/hr. - $36/hr.

Note: The above pay ranges do not reflect the additional onsite pay stipend that may apply while deployed to OCONUS locations. This stipend varies by location. Fringe benefits are discussed by request or during an interview.

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE WHICH MAY QUALIFY CANDIDATES FOR OPENINGS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.

2. Military Avionics Technical School Certification.

3. Equivalent Civilian Avionics Technical School Certification.

4. Licensed Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant Technician.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Perform mechanical and/or electrical inspections, certifications, tests, and calibrations, on aircraft and its support equipment (i.e. torque wrenches, pressure gauges, pitot static test sets, calipers/micrometer, multimeters, battery chargers/analyzers, etc.).

2. With limited assistance, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical test equipment.

3. Perform onsite calibrations and testing of customer aircraft and support equipment at CONUS and OCONUS locations.

4. Document, store, and retrieve files for maintenance of quality records.

5. Assist in conducting process audits.

6. Identify and assist in the correction of problems preventing the calibration/testing of aircraft support equipment.

7. Conform with all PMI processes and procedures.

8. Pass initial and random drug screening.

9. Obtain and/or maintain a US Secret Clearance.

10. Eligible to receive a US Passport.

PREFERRED SPECIAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES and EXPERIENCE:

1. Have experience in the use of advanced troubleshooting tools such as IFR6000, Pitot static test sets.

2. Possess an Airframe or Airframe and Powerplant license.

3. Be able to adapt and modify techniques, processes, and procedures for unique circumstances

4. Provide feedback to customers explaining calibration/testing process techniques and methodologies.

5. Have experience in the production of calibrations in an ISO/IEC17025 environment.

6. Possess an understanding of ANSI/NCSL Z540-2-1997 calibration system requirements.

7. Possess knowledge of ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.

2. Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

3. Must have 20/20 vision, with or without the use of corrective lenses.

4 Must have good visual color perception.

4. Must be able to lift 80lbs.

5. Must meet all physical fitness and health requirements necessary to deploy to OCONUS locations.

6. Must be willing to receive immunizations that DoD requires for travel to OCONUS locations.

7. Must be able to pass initial and random FAA level drug screening.

8. Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license.
