Behavioral Hospital of Bellaire is seeking a Utilization Management (UM) Coordinator for to function as a primary liaison between all third party payors and the hospital. The UM Coordinator is responsible for communicating required clinical information for the purpose of obtaining certification and approval for payment in the inpatient and partial levels of hospitalization. The UM Coordinator works collaboratively with all payers as well as the behavioral health team, attending physicians, case managers, nurses, etc. to ensure authorization is received for the services provided.

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, mental health, or nursing degree required, Master's degree preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a healthcare setting or managed care company, with experience in patient assessment, treatment planning, utilization management, and/or case management preferred.

Certifications: Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
