Pharmatech is a privately held nutritional supplement and liquid bottling contract manufacturer located in Lindon, Utah. Pharmatech proudly produces products for multiple national brands & private companies, found on the shelves of big-box stores throughout America, from Costco to Walmart.

About the Role

Pharmatech is seeking an experienced manufacturing VP Finance/Controller to work onsite at its manufacturing facility in Lindon, Utah. This candidate will be joining at an exciting time as we continue to build our company with national brand partnerships, setting a foundation for accelerated growth in the coming months and years. This role will oversee and own all finance and accounting aspects of the company, from A to Z, as well as a be a member of the Executive Team.

We are looking for a self-starter with a finance operations-manufacturing mindset. This role requires someone with prior ERP system experience (JD Edwards a big plus) that can manage standard costing for the company. Additionally, this individual will manage financial reporting, starting with the month-end close process and continuing through variance analysis and ad-hoc reporting to the Executive Team and shareholders.

To be successful in this role, you will need to collaborate internally across departments, as well as with external parties (shareholders, CPA’s, Attorney’s, bankers, insurance brokers, etc.). This role requires someone with a wide range of finance & accounting knowledge, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, while still maintaining an ownership mentality to prioritize deliverables and meet deadlines.

What You’ll Do

  • Month end close process, journal entries, variance analysis, and financial statement reporting
  • ERP standard cost updates & work center routing analysis and creation
  • Manage cash and prepare weekly cash reports, while managing A/R collections 
  • Drive financial results & cost reduction efforts across the company
  • Review labor reporting, material costs, manufacturing overhead, and other general ledger variances
  • Assist Sales with cost modeling for new and existing products and helping to improve margins
  • Drive continual improvement of processes, systems, and tools
  • Facilitate and drive the annual financial budget and monthly forecasting
  • Responsible for the annual audit with the 3rd party CPA firm, implementing & maintaining internal controls, and managing all aspects of accounting
  • Oversee weekly A/P check run & payroll
  • Communicate & facilitate with external parties as needed: shareholders, auditors, attorney’s, bankers, insurance brokers, etc. 
  • Oversee federal, state, & county tax filings 
  • Fixed asset preparation & tracking
  • Work alongside and give guidance to the accounting clerk and HR manager
  • Participate in Executive meetings, offering opinions and suggestions to help grow the business

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  •  Minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with at least 3 years of Controller experience
  • Strong understanding of product costing and inventory management
  • Ability to identify and communicate accounting issues to management in a timely and concise manner
  • Knowledgeable in US GAAP and internal controls regarding all aspects of manufacturing operations
  • High level of proficiency in spreadsheets and ERP systems.
  • Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting multiple tight deadlines in a constantly evolving, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and link operational metrics to financial performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail 
  • Proactive and able to work autonomously when necessary

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with JD Edwards or other similar ERP System (SAP, NetSuite, etc.)
  • Controller manufacturing experience or equivalent
  • Cost Accounting experience
