LifeLine EMS is Hiring an Ambulance Mechanic Near Commerce, CA

Pay Range: $30 - $35 (per hour, depending on experience)

Hours: Afternoons - Evenings

Job Summary: 

LifeLine EMS is a leading provider of non-emergency medical services dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare transport to our communities in both Los Angeles and Orange County. Our fleet of ambulances plays a crucial role in our mission. LifeLine is seeking a skilled Ambulance Mechanic to join our team. Essential Functions: 

As an Ambulance Mechanic at LifeLine, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of ambulances to ensure they are in optimal condition, ready to respond to emergency calls. Your expertise in vehicle diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles. The following are key responsibilities to this role:

  • The mechanic will perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on ambulance vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
  • They will be able to utilize diagnostic equipment and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and accurately.
  • They will develop and adhere to a proactive maintenance schedule for the fleet to prevent breakdowns and ensure vehicles are in optimal conditions at all times.
  • They will manage inventory of spare parts and order/request necessary components to maintain stock levels and minimize downtime.
  • They will maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including service reports and equipment history.
  • They will ensure all ambulance vehicles comply with state and federal regulations, including emissions standards and safety inspections.
  • They will work closely with other members of the maintenance team and provide technical guidance and support at needed.
  • They will adhere to safety protocols and maintain and clean and organized workspace.
  • They will perform other job-related duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (or GED) or equivalent; post-secondary education or technical training in automotive mechanics.
  • Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably with a focus on ambulance or emergency vehicle maintenance (not required).
  • Strong knowledge of automotive engines, electrical systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with Company Driving Policy.
  • ASE certification (preferred but not required)
