LifeLine EMS is Hiring a Paramedic Near Los Angeles, CA

Job Summary:

A Paramedic administers life support care to sick and injured persons in pre-hospital settings as authorized and directed by the attending physician.

Essential Functions:

  • Assesses the nature and extent of illness or injury in order to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless, non breathing patients.
  • Monitors cardiac patients.
  • Administers intravenous fluids when necessary.
  • Performs endotracheal intubation to open airways and ventilate patient.
  • Administers injections of medications and drugs.
  • Inflates pneumatic anti-shock garment on patient to improve blood circulation.
  • Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs.
  • Assists in extricating trapped victims.
  • Transports sick and injured persons to treatment centers.
  • Provides the physician with necessary patient information.
  • Drives mobile intensive care and/or ambulance unit to and from the emergency scene.
  • Communicates with hospital, physician, and other medical personnel in person and by radio-telephone.
  • Keeps current on treatment techniques, protocol changes, and application of new drugs, material, and equipment.
  • Prepares required reports and maintains records of activities.
  • Requisitions and restocks supplies, material, and equipment.
  • Cleans and performs minor maintenance to assigned emergency vehicle.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • An individual should have knowledge of contact management systems; order processing systems; spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Current California Drivers License,
  • Current Paramedic Certifications (CA State, Local County),
  • Current CPR Card,
  • Current Ambulance Drivers Certificate,
  • Currently LA City License,
  • Current Medical Examiners Card 
  • Approved Driving Record,

Other Requirements:

  • Skill with geriatric patients. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and in extreme situations and climates
