Job Summary:*
RPI, a global leader in print-on demand, is currently seeking a proactive and collaborative Maintenance Technician 2 (MT2) to join our plant maintenance team for 3rd Shift. As an MT2, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bindery and finishing equipment, as well as contributing to the maintenance of building systems and facilities. Working collaboratively with the production and administrative staff, you will be essential in upholding our commitment to delivering the highest level of product quality and service to our valued customers.

Duties/Responsibilities:*

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, including the proper usage of equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of work areas, including proper handling of materials and supplies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to address maintenance-related requests promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain positive and respectful working relationships with coworkers, exemplifying our cultural values of passion, commitment, adaptability, trust, and entrepreneurship.
  • Conduct Level 2 repairs and preventative maintenance on HP Series 3 printers and web presses, with basic support for HP Series 4 presses.
  • Coordinate with HP shared maintenance for technical issues and provide maintenance support for finishing equipment.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks for building systems and facilities, including electrical, lighting, carpentry, painting, etc.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Contribute ideas for improving workplace safety, security, and efficiency.
  • Fulfill other duties and tasks as assigned or needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:*

  • Proficiency in the safe operation of manual, power, and diagnostic tools for facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems such as electrical, lighting and tools.
  • Basic building and maintenance skills such as carpentry, painting, sheetrock, etc.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with organizational abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • OSHA training certification preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, insurable for operating company vehicles if applicable.

Education and Experience:*

  • Vocational education or a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance and/or operation.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working at heights on ladders or scissor lifts.
  • Capable of working in a moderately loud environment and varying environmental temperatures.
  • Able to grasp, reach, and stoop, with the ability to lift to 75 lbs.
