Summary: 

Under the direction of the Director of Major Gifts, the Individual Giving program is a unit that combines major gifts, an annual fund, planned giving, fundraising events, and various other cultivation and retention efforts in order to secure unrestricted support for the strategic vision of the national office. The Development Coordinator provides general administrative and fundraising support to the Individual Giving team. This person works closely with the Assistant Director of Annual Giving on special events. The coordinator also shares responsibility for carrying out a number of centralized administrative tasks to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Development department. As such, this person works closely with the Development Operations Manager to fulfill department support activities. 

Responsibilities: 

Individual Giving Team Support

  • Serves as the lead support person for the Individual Giving team. 
  • Provides administrative support for all aspects of in-person and virtual events including processing tickets and sponsorships. 
  • Works with vendors and consultants to process invoices, payments, and contracts. 
  • Assists in the execution of stewardship activities and other strategies as needed to strengthen the donor experience. 
  • Reviews and disseminates donor acknowledgments, invitation packages, sponsorship deliverables, appeals for support, and other correspondence as directed. 
  • Runs regular reports, updates dashboards, prepares donor briefings, and prepares mailing lists as needed. 
  • Distributes stewardship reports and liaisons within the Development and the President’s office to support the acknowledgment process.
  • Collaborates with the Finance, Marketing, and IT staff on administrative projects as needed.
  • Provides key support to the Assistant Director of Annual Giving on special events planning, including sponsor management, financial reporting, and drafting communications as needed.

Development Operations Support

  • Participates in project management utilizing Salesforce and other platforms.
  • Adheres to gift processing standards, including timely gift entry and acknowledgment, and maintains the integrity of donor data. 
  • Tracks and monitors donor inquiries, call logs, and records donations into the CRM system.
  • Processes donations received online, by mail, and by phone. 
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure revenue and fund designations reconcile. 
  • Monitors online donation pages and data. Replicates donation pages as needed for special campaigns. 
  • Helps to identify technical issues as they arise and supports efforts to troubleshoot them quickly.

Other duties as assigned 

  • Occasional travel for regional events. 
  • Assist in coordinating logistics for donor engagement activities. 
  • Attend training to learn software applications, data systems, and prospecting software used by the department. 
  • Additional responsibilities may arise to help the department achieve annual revenue goals. 

Requirements

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree; or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • One year of work experience; preferably in a non-profit setting and/or a revenue generating operation. 
  • Excellent computer skills, including G Suite and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM database preferred 
  • Keen attention to detail 
  • Self-starter with extraordinary organizational skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects independently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to compose, edit, and proof correspondence. 
  • Interest in donor relations and growing as a frontline fundraiser.
  • Friendly, outgoing, positive, creative and collaborative personality. 

Salary Range: $59,000- $63,000 commensurate with experience
