Community Health Center located in the Greater Providence RI area is expanding their Behavioral Healthcare team. This PMHNP will provide direct psychiatric care, evaluation, and psychopharmacology treatment to Health Center patients.

The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner/ PMHNP responsibilities will include:

• Assess individuals for mental health disorders and make an appropriate DSM diagnosis.
• Review past treatments, evaluations, and other relevant information, in order, to develop an appropriate diagnosis and screen referrals in coordination with the other treatment providers.
• Prescribe medication when appropriate under the supervision of a physician or according to established policies and protocols.
• Provide education to individuals to aid in understanding their diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment.
• Collaborate, coordinate and consult with other providers in order to discuss treatment plans, progress in services and where appropriate, the medical aspects of the person being supported and the implications for their physical healthcare needs

The Nurse Practitioner qualification will be:

• Certified PMHNP
• Will consider a New Graduate with previous nursing Psych or Primary Care expereince
• Have an interest in working in a Community Health Care setting
• Have or is able to have a Rhode Island License
