This is an onsite role that requires commuting to Indianapolis.

In a Nutshell

Valve Meter is looking for our next growth-minded Data Analyst to join our growing performance marketing agency. As a critical member of our Analytics and Insights team, you’ll use data to drive action and growth for our clients. Utilize your analytical skills in a role that merges data management with revenue operations, enhancing our internal strategies and client outcomes in a dynamic digital marketing setting.

In this role, you’ll help empower our account management and marketing operations teams by equipping them with actionable insights on campaign performance, allowing us to make data-driven decisions faster.

From our headquarters on the northside of Indianapolis, we help clients nationwide grow and scale their businesses. We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment after you’ve spent a few months working mostly in our office.

About the Role

This role reports to the Analytics & Insights Manager

Data Management

  • Model, extract, and ingest data from various systems and methods, including flat files, APIs, and databases.
  • Create repeatable and efficient data pipelines and ETL flows that allow our department to drive actionable insights.
  • Take business requirements and vision and transform them into effective data solutions.
  • Develop dashboards to communicate insights and drive action by using data to tell a story rather than simply showing charts.
  • Design and develop automated solutions across the data lifecycle.
  • Perform analysis of complex data sets to verify accuracy and completeness of raw data as well as identify and interpret trends or patterns.
Business Intelligence & Insights
  • Analyze marketing performance on a client-by-client basis.
  • Provide insights into campaign and marketing strategy optimization.
  • Measure ROI and ROMS (return on marketing spend) of campaigns.
  • Prove or disprove marketing tests using a variety of statistical methods.
  • Develop visualizations, proactively identify trends, and effectively communicate findings and analytics insights to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare reporting deliverables for internal and client teams.

Collaboration

  • Work within a team environment to assist in solving operational problems and streamlining processes, utilizing insights to inform and optimize workflows.
  • Collaborate with account managers and marketing leaders to understand how marketing activity turns into customers. Continually refine our process to convert customers and grow our clients.

Your Experience

  • 3 years of relevant experience in business intelligence and/or data engineering, including demonstrated experience using data to create and deliver insights.
  • Experience working in a marketing agency or revenue operations function would be an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.

Software & Technology:

  • Experience creating effective and efficient data pipelines and tables in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with a BI tool such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Domo, Complex APIs, both REST and GraphQL.
  • Strong SQL knowledge & experience.
  • Data ETL tools like Airbyte or Fivetran.
  • Experience analyzing data with Python is a plus.
