This is a full-time, benefitted role at the Fairfax Vascular Center in Fairfax, VA. You will work Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.

No call, evenings, weekends, or major holidays. Free on-site parking.

Who you are:

As a Medical Assistant and valued member of our team you are someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced and collaborative team-oriented environment, effectively communicate with patients and FRC staff, and demonstrate empathy and compassion to our patients.

What you will do:

Duties to include assisting the radiologist during procedures, preparing patients prior to procedures/exams, handling paperwork, scheduling patients, and contacting the referring physician's offices.

  • Assists Physician, Technologist, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Nurse with procedures and patient care.
  • Prepares patients for procedures.
  • Effectively communicates pre and post procedure instructions to patients.
  • Occasionally assists and holds patients if required during the imaging procedure. When this occurs the technologist is required to wear appropriate protective shielding, as appropriate.
  • Assists with Front Desk, Prior Authorizations & Scheduling.
  • Responds to all medical emergencies within the Center. Ensures that the emergency drugs are checked monthly and emergency cart is checked regularly
  • Ensures all supplies are stocked for procedures.
  • Ensures all instruments are sterilized correctly and sterilizing machine is maintained per manufacturer.
  • Complies with OSHA, HIPAA and all other State and Federal laws.

What you bring:

  • 2 or more years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • High school diploma
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Diploma
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider/AED
