Center Crisis Specialist will act as a co responder with Law Enforcement. Response may be virtual or in person. Crisis response requests may also come from Crisis Hot Line, local hospitals, .
Crisis Team Leader or approved protocols will determine type of response and priority. When appropriate and available two person behavioral health teams may respond in person instead of Law Enforcement.
Crisis assessments for adults and children and interviews will inform decisions determining the most appropriate resolutions for individuals with a psychiatric crisis.
Options may include community options with safety plans or inpatient options. The least restrictive environment providing care and safety is considered.
To access inpatient options collaboration with law enforcement, judges, and contracted hospitals is required. When not providing crisis response duties crisis follow up contacts will be provided with the goal of maintaining any crisis resolution gains made and supporting transfer to ongoing Center services or other community services as appropriate.
Must be able to work under pressure with stressful situations while maintaining a professional manner. This employee will use Trauma Informed Care principals when interacting with subject and collaterals involved with individuals.
Referrals prioritizing jail diversion are preferred. Will be knowledgeable in operations of Admissions to enroll clients into services.
This position will be cross trained in Intake process to help access care in our Rural Counties. This position is directly supervised by the MH Program Administrator.
Hours will be Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm
QUALIFICATIONS :
Prefer previous experience in Mental Health Crisis Work and assessments. Requires Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to job duties.
