Plymouth Harbor on Sarasota Bay is Hiring an Assisted Living - Administrator of Assisted Living Near Sarasota, FL

The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and coordinate the overall operation of Assisted Living in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the Sr. Vice President of Health Services, to assure the highest degree of quality resident care.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish, implement and enforce policies and procedures; educate staff and residents on same. Policies and procedures will be reviewed at least once every two (2) years to assure compliance with current regulations.
  • Establish, implement and maintain a Quality Assessment and Process Improvement program. Data will be collected and reviewed to ensure that positive trending can be emphasized, and negative trending will be addressed.
  • Establish and maintain intra and inter-departmental rapport.
  • Ensure that patients’/residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, and property and civil rights are established and maintained.
  • Maintain a public relations program that services the best interests of the residents, facility and community.
  • Recruit, select and orient competent departmental personnel.
  • Meet with department directors on an as-needed basis. Conduct and/or participate in in-service classes and supervisory level training programs.
  • Create, with the assistance of the Sr. Vice President of Health Services, an annual budget and a three (3) year capital budget.
  • Receive monthly financial statements and provide Sr. Vice President of Health Services with a review of performance.
  • Keep abreast of economic conditions and make adjustments that will assure the continued ability to provide quality care.
  • Represent Assisted Living at designated meetings.
  • Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible persons, as appropriate.
  • Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, and other educational offerings to ensure that Assisted Living is receiving the greatest benefit from the latest research, advocacy programs, and best practices.
  • Complete team member performance appraisals and submit wage increase recommendations to the Sr. Vice President of Health Services in a timely manner.
  • Make written and oral reports and recommendations to appropriate individuals or committees concerning the operation of Assisted Living.
  • Establish and conduct monthly Colony (Resident Council) meetings in Assisted Living. The Colony Meetings provide residents with a forum to raise concerns and provide constructive feedback to administration.
  • Assess, evaluate, and implement appropriate recommendations from the facility’s committees, e.g. Process Improvement Teams and Infection Control Committee.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of an in-service program that will enhance quality resident/patient care.
  • Organize and standardize methods by which department objectives will be accomplished.
  • Discharge properly such other responsibilities and duties as the Sr. Vice President of Health Services may direct.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
  • The Administrator of Assisted Living has supervisory responsibility for all areas licensed as Assisted Living
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • Must have successfully completed (or eligible to sit for) the 26-hour ALF Core Training Course along with obtaining an assisted living administrator’s license.
  • RN preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to Assisted Living.
Experience:
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in an assisted living or skilled nursing facility.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality resident/patient care and maintaining sound operation.
General:
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Must have excellent personal skills, demonstrating the ability to conduct oneself in a non-controversial style; a style that inspires the respect of others and promotes a sense of trust in the individual’s competence.
  • Must have good communication skills; speaking, writing, and listening.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs with emphasis on Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word, with the ability to learn and use proprietary software as required.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS
  • Must have current licensure as an Assisted Living Administrator (or be eligible to sit for the exam).
