Summary

The Credit Analystreports to, the Senior Credit Officer. This position under general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, performs clerical and administrative functions including, but not limited to, word processing, data input, and filing. Researches and retrieves data from loan files and from database systems like Business Analytics Viewpoint, Navigator, and Director to prepare reports. Prepares financial data and charts in conjunction with loan requests

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Uses various data and reports to gather information and accurately input data to complete the monthly Board of Directors Report. Also, to complete other monthly reports and maintain electronic copies of all reports and supporting data. Copies and distributes the reports monthly.
  • Reviews newly closed loans prepares a weekly closed loan report. Uses this report to update the grade tracking report and pipeline report.
  • Prepares credit reviews on the existing customers in compliance with standard audit practices.
  • Assists the Credit Manager/Underwriter in preparing new loan review analysis.
  • Inputs data and maintains a database system to track the receipt of financial information, as well as to generate periodic letters and/or emails requesting current and/or delinquent information from borrowers.
  • Maintains the grade tracking report and the list of the bank’s large loan relationships. Prepares this report monthly.
  • Maintain the Pipeline report including list of lines of credit to be renewed and prepares this report for weekly distribution. Also maintains a list of large relationship including review dates. Electronically saves the Line of Credit report monthly.
  • Analyzes financial statements and tax returns to obtain information to complete a computer program that summarizes borrowers’ financial statements (Moody’s Package). Creates Electronic financial statements from the inputted data. Complete the annual RMA Annual Statement Studies Campaign.
  • Maintains the logs of settled loans separated by type (indirect, consumer, commercial, real estate) of all loans. Reviews loans for credit quality as per the set guidelines and fills out individual loan reports as required by the guidelines. Also informs the supervisor of any inconsistencies found in the loans reviewed.
  • Submits electronic spreadsheet data to Eric Van Orden on a quarterly basis.
  • Prepares other quarterly reports. (NAICS’s Report, Credit Quality Report, Unfunded Commitments Report Non-Accrual Report, Impaired Loans Report)
  • Completes a quarterly stock audit report for loans secured by stock. Keeps electronic files on the approved appraisers and environmental companies and aids in completing assignments from the compliance department.
  • Organizes and maintains files both in the work area and electronically in an orderly manner and accurately files new data both manually and electronically as needed.
  • Runs customer credit reports as needed for underwriting and credit reviews.
  • As needed, collects the data and prepares the annual Indirect Reviews maintaining electronic copies.
  • As needed, performs data entry and record maintenance on the in-house computer system.
  • Provides back-up support for the credit department manager such as answering phones, filing, distributing mail, distributing documents, photocopying, and other clerical duties.
  • Interact externally with borrowers, prospects, accountants, and third-party vendors.
  • Operates a variety of standard and/or automated office equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, and photocopier.
  • Maintains an orderly and neat office environment. Maintains supply stock and orders additional supplies when necessary. Inventories and maintains supply stock for the kitchen.
  • As assigned, performs all duties directly or indirectly related to the credit/loan departments and maintains the confidentiality of all information.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Regularly interacts internally with Business Develop Officers, Portfolio Specialists and other fellow employees in Credit Administration, Operations, Accounting and Branch System.
  • Adequate 10-key calculator skills.
  • Experience in preparing reports for presentation to internal and external users.
  • The ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to work independently.
  • Proven ability to work well with fellow employees, internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of standard filing systems.
  • The ability to perform repetitive and detailed work.
  • Analytical ability and decision-making skills.
  • Intermediate accounting knowledge required.
  • The ability to handle pressure may be involved in meeting deadlines.

Required Education and Experience

· Four-year degree with concentration in Accounting.

· Related work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

· One- or two-years’ related banking experience in a loan department preferred.

· Must have at least 1-3 years administrative assistant experience.

· Previous expectance with loan operations system and financial statement spreading software preferred.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications (MS Word and Excel) required. Advanced spreadsheet knowledge a plus.

Physical Demands

Physical demand level – Medium: with lifting, bending, stooping, walking, or standing with some occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a seven and one-half hour shift, to include lifting items weighing up to 10 lbs. and carrying or pulling them on a cart across a parking lot for distances of up to 100 feet. Physical requirement to include the ability to see, hear, and do repetitive motion. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
