Overview:
We are seeking an outgoing, skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting the dentist during patient procedures and providing exceptional patient care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for dentistry and a desire to make a positive impact on patients' oral health.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings, extractions, and root canals
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Take vital signs and update medical histories
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Perform basic laboratory duties such as pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Assist with front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-ray certification required; additional certifications such as CPR or coronal polishing are a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, dental procedures, and infection control protocols
- Proficiency in using dental software systems (e.g., Dentrix ) for patient record management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care under the supervision of the dentist
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
