JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE : Bilingual Sexual Assault Counselor (Haitian Creole or Spanish)
HOURS: Full Time (35 hours/week) some evenings required.
PROGRAM: A New Day
LOCATION: Brockton
SALARY: $60,000 - $65,000/annually
BENEFITS: Medical, dental, holiday, paid earned leave, 403b, etc.
DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical and Emergency Services, the Bilingual Sexual Assault Counselor will provide crisis intervention support and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence and their significant others.
  • Provide crisis support, intervention, and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence.
  • Provide case management (i.e.: manage internal referrals, needs assessments and community referrals)
  • Provide day-to-day hotline coverage as needed.
  • On-call / after-hours staff back-up coverage.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to survivors of sexual assault.
  • Work closely with the program manager to ensure comprehensive advocacy, referrals and case management services are provided when requested and/or appropriate.
  • Provide community outreach and education to build referral sources and volunteer base.
  • Participate in staff meetings and required clinical supervision.
  • Participate in community events and meetings as relevant to the position and increasing client capacity.
  • Maintain up-to-date client files, statistical data, billing information and monthly reports.
  • Work collaboratively with community partnerships at co-locations in Brockton, Quincy and Plymouth, MA with the specific goal of increasing access to services for key target populations.
  • Any other duties assigned.

Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in counseling psychology, social work or related field and three years of experience in social services, education, health care or related field. Lived and professional experience in field will be considered. Ability to maintain flexible schedule in accordance with program needs; evenings and/or weekend emergency responses may be required. Understanding of trauma and its effects within the dynamics of sexual violence. Demonstrated successes in individual and group support with diverse clients and diverse client needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate small and large group meetings. Travel is required, a valid driver's license, registration, auto insurance and a safe driver's record.
