Job Summary

The Peer Recovery Support Services Supervisor will provide direct supervision, oversight, quality assurance and support to Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS, PSS, PRSS).

Essential Job Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:

  • Conduct weekly supervision sessions with each CPRS.
  • Maintain accurate and timely supervision, including reporting and documentation while ensuring compliance with privacy requirements.
  • Oversee weekly schedules of CPRS staff and ensure appropriate provision of services to all clients.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to Peer Recovery team members.
  • Coordinate and track necessary continuing education training for CPRS staff to ensure 245G compliance as well as professional development.
  • Maintain trauma-informed and culturally intelligent approach for diverse Peer Recovery Specialists.
  • Ensure that Peer Recovery Specialists adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Monitor the quality of services provided by CPRS staff.
  • Identify and address any issues or challenges that arise in the course of service delivery.
  • Research, locate, and engage resources to build skills and ensure quality and appropriate support for the CPRS team.
  • Stay up to date with trends and development in mental health and substance use disorders
  • Ensure billable hours for CPRS staff meet weekly minimum performance threshold
  • Audit CPRS billing and documentation weekly for accuracy, timeliness, appropriate content, and overall adherence to 245G guidelines.
  • Support clinical services team in a variety of aspects, including but not limited to: providing group or individual session coverage, facilitating psychoeducation lectures, and acting as a resource for clients who need additional aftercare assistance.

Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Licensed alcohol & drug counselor in the state of MN.
  • Active and unencumbered Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Credential.
  • CPRS- S (Supervisor designation).
  • Obtain 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health training within six months of start date.
  • Minimum three years of experience in the field of mental health, addiction or related.
  • Minimum one year of supervising and leading a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, and leadership.
  • Must be comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges, including mental health and addiction.
  • The ability to live and work by MnTC’s culture of honor & core values – practicing compassion, honor, respect, integrity, servanthood, and trust.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
  • Must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11. Reference: 245G.11 MN Statutes
  • Strong knowledge of ethics and track record of ethical decision making.
