Montessori School of Raleigh is Hiring an Auxiliary Programs Assistant Near Raleigh, NC

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Classification: 12-month administrator
Supervisor: Auxiliary Programs Manager
Location: In-person at the Lead Mine Campus
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (mid-August through May)
Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (June - mid-August)

Position Summary
The Montessori School of Raleigh (MSR) seeks an Auxiliary Programs Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year. Under the general direction of the Auxiliary Programs Manager, the ideal candidate will partner with in providing exceptional operations and logistics support and supervision during MSR’s expansive set of auxiliary programming.

Overview
Established in 1974, MSR is a vibrant and exceptional independent Montessori and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the Triangle area serving 400 students aged 6 weeks through 18 years. MSR is committed to the intellectual, ethical, and personal development of our students. Our beautifully designed Lead Mine Campus, situated on 10 acres in North Raleigh, comprises five buildings in a child-centered, village-like setting surrounded by wetlands and protected forest. Our Middle and Upper Schools are housed on an expansive 40-acre wooded campus in Brier Creek in Durham. Both sites were carefully planned and constructed to provide the nature-centered environments integral to Montessori practice. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the Auxiliary Program Manager with the execution of all auxiliary programs, including SummerScape (summer camps), After-School Care, In-Service Days (employee childcare), and Spring Break Camp
  • Cultivates positive relationships with families, vendors, and business partners
  • Supports ongoing facility rental partnerships between vendors and MSR through the coordination of rental agreements, insurance requirements, scheduling, and staffing
  • In partnership with Auxiliary Programs Manager, solicit new rental partnerships to grow annual revenue; ensure annual revenue goals are met
  • Supervises a developmentally appropriate and consistent schedule of activities for students from 3:00 - 5:30 p.m
  • Steps into auxiliary programs as classroom support as needed
  • Works closely with the Lower School Academic Team and Auxiliary Programs Manager to ensure Montessori principles and philosophy are integrated appropriately in the After-School program; also communicates with the Lower School Academic Team regarding any students of concern
  • Supports staff and faculty scheduling
  • Working with the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and Auxiliary Programs Manager, ensures the safety and security of students and staff and responds appropriately to emergency situations
  • In collaboration with Database & Data Systems Administrator, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Auxiliary Programs Manager, supports registration processes for auxiliary programs including set up, waitlists, cancellations, and required forms, disclosures and waivers
  • Supports faculty in tracking attendance records
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and administration to ensure the success of programs
  • Provides partnership to the Auxiliary Programs Manager regarding developing retention initiatives related to auxiliary programs
  • Other duties as assigned by the Auxiliary Programs Manager, CFO, or Head of School

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The Auxiliary Programs Assistant can expect to:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled classroom environment, with periods of time outdoors.
  • Spend periods of time walking or standing.
  • Supervise groups of students and regularly engage with parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Turn, bend, and reach.
