Tasks and Activities:

The Candidate will function as an integrated member of the Development’s Network

Services Team and will provide ongoing support for the Department’s Local Area

Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and remote access platforms.

The Candidate will be responsible for operational duties; development tasks;

gathering; analyzing and documenting stakeholder, technical and functional

requirements; assisting with the administration of the Department’s Network

services, and shall perform, at a minimum, the tasks and/or activities described

below:

• Work with the Department’s Contract Manager to serve as the primary point of contact to ensure that start-up activities are completed within fourteen (14) days prior to the performance of services. Start-up activities include
• Department’s fingerprint background check and online information security training security requirements;
• On-going technical support and issue resolution for the DHSMV infrastructure;
• Onsite or remote support of the network infrastructure;
• Working closely with the staff to ensure knowledge transfer of infrastructure configuration, support and related tasks;
• Design and technical recommendations, as necessary, to support DHSMV initiatives;
• Prepare and complete stakeholder requests for the creation, modification or enhancement of new or existing Network infrastructure applications/systems;
• Research and evaluate options to help identify ways to improve efficiency, increase security and reduce system issues, errors or data anomalies;
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving system issues and help desk requests;
• Attend and participate in all assigned meetings;
• Attend Department required training;
• Complete a Project Report and a Project Timesheet on a weekly basis, as indicated below in sub-section 3. Required Source Documentation/ Reports; and
• The contractor must be a Cisco Gold Partner capable of providing consultants with advanced level network engineering experience. The contractor will work directly with the Department’s Network Services team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Proven experience as a technical manager, leading technical staff through business-critical operations.
• Proven experience implementing security practice meeting CJIS requirements.
• Proven experience leading enterprise level multi-tenant cloud infrastructure.
• Proven experience mentoring technical supervisor and support engineers.
• Proven experience in LAN and WAN platforms
• Proven experience in designing, documenting, planning, and implementing LAN and WAN products
• Thorough understanding of modern service provider TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited to: MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP4, STP, RSTP, 802.1q, 802.1ah, ADSL2
• Superior knowledge, skills and experience with Cisco routing hardware, software, protocols etc.
• 5 years’ experience of creating comprehensive implementation, test and back out plans of new LAN and WAN products
• 5 years’ experience in network performance analysis,
• 5 years’ experience of writing technical and procedural documentation
• Proven ability to effectively diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to network infrastructure
• In-depth knowledge of network communications including LAN, WAN, firewall and related technologies In-depth knowledge of VPN technologies
• Proven knowledge and experience in network encryption technologies, including IPSEC
• Strong communication and collaborative skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred, Skills and Abilities:

• Take charge, can-do attitude
• Facilitation skills
• Knowledge of mobile communication technologies
• Preference will be given to candidates that have experience working within knowledge of FLHSMV LAN/WAN environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates that have experience working in FLHSMV systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
