Description
Job Summary: Responsible for direct and indirect patient care in the Surgical Services setting. Assists patients, provides personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of a RN. Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff. Prepares and compiles medical records in the Surgical Services Department. Responsible for the disinfection, stocking and cleanliness of the operating rooms and surgical areas. Participates in performance improvement activities. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies and procedures and standards. Must be able to perform all Operating Room Nursing Assistant duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES
Clinical
1. Prepares charts for scheduled procedures. Assemble charts with consents, H&Ps, etc. and ensure that records are prepared correctly with necessary content and labeled with patient identification labels.
2. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
3. Answers telephone according to the WMH standards of behavior and communicates information to the appropriate personnel/family.
4. Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Environmental Cleaning
The Operating Room Nursing Assistant is responsible for the disinfection of the operating rooms and cleanliness of the surgical areas.

Requirements
A. JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Maintains current CNA licensure in the state of Idaho.
2. Current BLS Certification.
3. Ability to use sound judgment and cope with potentially stressful situations.
4. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
5. Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence.
6. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
7. Basic computer knowledge.
8. Knowledge of medical terminology.
