Summary Statement

We are looking for an O&P Resident for our Lakewood, CA and Orange, CA locations. This residency represents an important continuation of the education process as well as a glimpse into the day-to-day working environment of O&P practitioners at Active Life.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Opportunity for new practitioners to apply the knowledge they have learned in a supervised real-world setting.
• Help deliver quality orthotics and professional services in relation to patient care.
• Assists in actual fabrication as may be needed to assure, quality, fit function, timely delivery, or responsiveness to individual patient need.
• Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments.
• Instruct patient in use of device.
• Post-delivery service and adjustments for assigned patients.
• Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities.
• Maintenance of all patient charts and records of care and service, current and complete each day.
• Achieve and maintain professional knowledge and technical skills required to perform all other primary responsibilities.

This specifically includes, current "state of the art" knowledge, procedures, components, and materials including application based on diagnosis.

• Identify and create improvements to processes to promote efficiency and productivity.
• Special projects as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Orthotics & Prosthetics
• Understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Knowledge of componentry and its suitability and reliability for specific uses.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion.
• Exceptional organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in resolving issues.
• Proficient computer skills; Proficient in MS Office and databases.
• A valid driver’s license with no limitations operating a motor vehicle; must have a reliable vehicle.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check.
