Allegheny Science & Technology is Hiring a Grants Management Specialist Near Washington, DC

Description
Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is looking for a Grants Management Specialist to support our Department of Energy (DOE) customer in supporting the following activities: monitor, analyze and implement actions on the reporting of selectee/awardee/applicant and Program activities based on Departmental accounting systems, and other Departmental records, Treasury reports, and private sector data sources.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Direct experience with federal financial assistance (grants and cooperative agreements) including administration activities during the pre-award, active, closeout and auditing stages
  • Possess knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and policies to ensure compliance.
  • Acquire current data for insertion into the relevant databases and supports the tracking of project-level milestones.
  • Respond to and validate data requests for appropriate federal, laboratory and/or schedule contractor personnel.
  • Assist in incentive/project planning: developing workflows, defining process requirements, and tasks assignments.
  • Assist the Federal staff with oversight, monitoring, and progress assessment of program activities.
  • Review documentation in the field and highlights critical issues for the federal staff to address and report.
  • Develop and contribute to technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings).
  • Participate in and take detailed notes for negotiation meetings with selectees.
  • Build and load applicant profiles into software database.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3-5 years of experience in Business or related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (specific callout: intermediate-advance knowledge of Excel).
  • Previous experience utilizing automated tools to extract data.
  • Previous experience maintaining databases and data systems.
  • Previous experience translating data into trends, patterns, and predictions (ability to reorganize data in a digestible format, e.g., tables, charts, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Previous experience developing surveys with platforms such as Microsoft Forms.
