SUMMARY
JCCA is seeking Therapists to join our Preventive Services Program , offering targeted intervention to stabilize and strengthen families in crisis when their children are coping with mental illness and stress. The Social Workers will focus on the Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model, which is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention method designed to assist families with children aged 0- 5, who have experienced at least one traumatic event, resulting in mental health, attachment and/or behavioral problems. The goal of the CPP therapeutic method is to strengthen child-parent attachment, parental empathy, and resilience in families, helping to break cycles of abuse and neglect, promoting long-term stability

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide individual, group and family counseling for clients/families in compliance with regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.

• Conduct regular home visits to clients

• Conduct assessments of referred families according to established program procedure.

• Maintain documentation of all client/family/collateral contacts according to the regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.

• Maintain correspondence and provide all services for clients as required by the Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP).

• Attend clinical case conferences and staff meetings according to program procedures.

• Attend inter-agency meetings (including client-specific meetings at schools, hospitals, ACS, etc.).

• Participate in planning and implementation of client group activities, etc.

*35-hours per week, Monday-Friday –remote work days available- should be flexible to work 1 to 2 late nights per week, up until 8PM

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) or Psychology from an accredited school

• Knowledge of individual, family and group therapeutic modalities

• Knowledge of needs of, and identification of, abused and neglected children

• Knowledge of child development and individual and family functioning.

• Demonstrated ability to work with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families

• Excellent writing skills to fulfill state and city regulations for documentation

• Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse

• Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole French is HIGHLY preferred
