Job Description:
TheOperations and Maintenance Technician is responsible for performingpreventative and reactive maintenance, system commissioning, troubleshootingand generally maintaining our customers’ solar assets. This key position isresponsible for managing time and resources so that O&M customers areserviced promptly and effectively. Responsibilities include electricaltroubleshooting, module cleaning, adherence to safety procedures, processimprovement and innovation, electronic monitoring set-up. A strong foundationin electrical installation, solar electrical systems, and customer service isrequired. The ideal candidate will also lead efforts for safe workingpractices.
Thisposition is 100% traveling, based on the location of projects within theregion. The company will provide accommodations for travel home as projectschedules allow, usually in some variation of every other weekend home.
Emergencies-There will be occasions that demand very quick reactions such as 24-hourresponses to system failures. It is expected that, on occasion, the O&MTechnician will be called into work, on a weekend or previously scheduled timeoff, at night or on a holiday, to perform troubleshooting and repairs.
Responsibilities:
•Performpreventative maintenance and other technical services on commercial PV systems.
•Workwith construction departments to commission and maintain all commercial PVsystems.
•Respondto reactive maintenance events- potentially in emergency.
•Communicateactivities to clients, appropriate personnel, vendors, and internal staff.
•Collectdata and create reports for appropriate company personnel and customers.
•Createestimate of time and materials to perform corrective maintenance.
•MaintainO&M vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.
•Maintaincompany assigned tools, safety gear and other resources.
•Attendtraining sessions from internal and external resources (Inverter and monitoringmanufacturers, etc.)
•Otherduties as assigned.
