Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to expectant mothers during the labor and delivery process. Responsibilities:
- Monitor the progress of labor, including fetal heart rate, contraction patterns, and maternal vital signs
- Administer medications, pain relief measures, and anesthesia as needed
- Assist with medical procedures such as inductions, cesarean sections, and episiotomies
- Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families throughout the labor process
- Educate patients on breastfeeding techniques, newborn care, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in medical records

Requirements:
- Valid nursing license in AK
- Minimum of [number] years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices
- Proficiency in medical documentation systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Experience in caring for newborns, including toddler care
- Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures related to labor and delivery
- Understanding of cardiac catheterization procedures is a plus
- Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) usage and maintenance
- Familiarity with workers' compensation laws related to maternity leave
