SPECIFIC DUTIES

• The Ink Technician will be expected to align with our workplace core values.
• Maintain an inventory of all inks in flexo departments.
• Mix spot color inks as required.
• Perform drawdowns within 24 hours upon request.
• Reduce waste by recycling inventory to consume blends of ink that are no longer required.
• Provide proofs of process colors and spot colors on various substrates. Maintain a library of these proofs.
• Review and update inks per production schedule.
• Troubleshoot problems with inks through unique blending, material recommendations, or process changes. Track these issues in a database.
• R.T.S. inks daily.
• Bring tolerance issues to the attention of the Production Supervisor.
• Update and obsolete any ink formulas in the database system.
• Responsible for the service of the X-Rite Spectrodensitometers and Densitometers throughout the plant.
• Maintain calibration and repair as needed.
• Perform ink inventory and cycle counts monthly.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). Requires at least three years of relevant experience in flexo ink operation in a manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear foot and other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. May continuously stand for an extended period and stoop and kneel frequently. May handle, feel, and reach for items in and around the work area. Also, write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting to 50 lbs may be required. Vision: close vision, distance, and color vision to distinguish color variations, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Must be able to work overtime as required by workload and customer-mandated deadlines.
