Lofton Label is seeking experienced Ink Technician to be based out of our facility in Inver Grove Heights, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of our processes involving ink, this includes ordering, mixing, matching, testing and process controls.I

Are you passionate about this work?

•  Maintain appropriate levels of base (drums) and primary inventory on all inks.

•  Audit receipts to assure inks have been received and have been invoiced correctly.

•  Mix and match spot color inks per production jobs prior to going to press.

•  Reduce ink waste by recycling inventory to consume blends of ink that are no longer required.

•  Provide color match drawn downs as needed and maintain a library of these draw downs, both electronically and physically.

•  Troubleshoot problems with inks on press using X-Rite and Fastmatch software.

•  Record and track these issues in a data base.

•  Conduct appropriate tests on new researched materials to establish an ink formula to be ran at time of order.

•  Responsible for the service of the X-Rite Spectrodensitometer, Densitometers, Spec Ink Dispenser and the Phantom QD Proofer.

•  Equipment needing repair will be removed from service and sent out for repairs.

•  Equipment service records will be maintained by this position.

•  Evaluate customer specifications and needs in order to determine ink supplies and coatings needed to produce product.

•  Consult with clients, vendors and other individuals to complete forms and resolve issues pertaining to ink adherence and face sheet printing.

•  Purchase inks and coatings for meeting the customer needs and the needs of manufacturing, including all Shop supplies that are needed

• Assist estimating and planning in the research of materials.

• Any chemistry, material or process that involves ink will have process control audits.

• Good communication skills both oral and written
• Previous knowledge in all facets of material face sheets including all papers and synthetics (BOPP, PET, Tyvek ect.).
• Must be able to work in an organized and clean manner.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Office, Excel.
• Knowledge of ink mixing, pre-press, printing processes.
• Color accurate vision
