Description

Under general supervision of the General Manager, the purpose of the position is to provide of ticket sales/ticket sales staff, account for sales transactions, and complete all administrative and customer service functions related to the Box Office. Position is responsible for maintaining the Ovation ticketing system or similar system, ticket sales, security of money exchanged between the patron and the venue, box office ticket seller oversight and scheduling, recordkeeping, reception/filing duties, and assistance with website content management. Position may perform various clerical, customer service and courier functions for the Department. Performs related work as required.
Examples of Duties

Assists Department in areas including, but not limited to, Ovation (or similar) ticket management, ticket sales, client/customer relations, recordkeeping, email/telephone communications, check requests, status changes, credit card reconciliations, purchase orders, payroll, and general clerical duties.

Acts on behalf of the department by providing exceptional customer service, such as greeting clients, accepting deliveries, providing rental information to interested parties, and providing facility tours.

Performs supervisory functions for Box Office employees, such as interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating, counseling; recommends discipline and discharge.

Recommends changes as needed to Box Office operations to ensure maximum efficiency and smooth operations.

Assists with budgeting and other functions associated with Box Office operations.

Puts the system for issuing tickets in place and enforces policies concerning exchanges, refunds, and similar activities.

Accommodates patrons in disputes over ticket issues, striving to reach an equitable arrangement while upholding established policies.

Mediates and provides a speedy resolution for conflicts that occur between members of the staff with one another or with patrons

Monitors and assigns cash drawers to ticket sellers at the start of each work day and must see to it that the box office take corresponds to the tickets sold.

Produces reports of sales, house counts, and/or discrepancies and delivers that information to the General Manager

Retrieves and distributes daily mail several times during a workday; prepares daily outgoing mail for the end of the workday.

Works amicably with existing and potential rental clients, patrons, employees, and supervisors to accomplish tasks and resolve issues.

Makes copies, types letters, files documents, and provides information, as needed.
Assists with surveys and varied duties of collecting data, using Ovation.

May be required to drive to collect and deliver materials or complete other errands.

Minimum Training and Experience
Associate Degree in related field; supplemented by minimum one (1) year box office experience that includes computer operations and popular software applications and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Special Requirements
Valid Florida State Driver's License (if driving is required).
Experience using Ovation system (or similar system) preferred.
Box office experience required.
