Principal Database Administrator at Oracle in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description US citizenship on US soil required. We are looking for passionate people who are Oracle Database AND Exadata experts. We are looking for people who have current experience Exadata and Oracle Database technologies. Minimum Qualifications 8 years of experience building, maintaining, forecasting, securing, and troubleshooting RDBMS and GRID across multiple clusters. BS or MS (preferred) in Computer Science, or equivalent experience Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Proficient in Computer Science concepts Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Perl and/or Shell Scripting Experienced at building, maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting highly available database clusters, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality into all deliverables and troubleshooting issues when they arise. Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations) Understand the end-to-end Oracle RDBMS/GRID configurations, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics. Excellent knowledge of Oracle Databases and the interaction between the RDBM/GRID with Exadata. Excellent understanding and ability to manage Oracle Database structures, components, tuning standards, design practices, and incident investigation. Experience with on-prem Exadata 8m and 9m with experience of OCI and working understanding of OCI architecture, Autonomous Databases, and ExaCS is a plus. Able to work flexible schedules including some weekends and nights. Skills: Oracle Certified Database Professional: Senior level Oracle Database Administrator. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Oracle Exadata, Oracle Autonomous Database (ADW and ATP) Oracle Database and GRID 19c and 11g MAA (Maximum Availability Architecture: Streams, Clustering, Disaster Recovery, Highly Available Backup and Recovery techniques) Oracle GoldenGate SQL, PL/SQL Shell and/or Perl scripting. Oracle GRID and RDBMS Security Standards. Experience in: Proven experience in building, management, securing, maintaining, forecasting scale, incident investigation, and resolution for all things Oracle RDBMS/GRID. Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture & Best Practices for Oracle Database & Exadata. High availability & replication technologies (Dataguard, Goldengate) Working knowledge and understanding of scripting/coding (SQL, PL/SQL, Shell, Perl and/or Python) Understanding security best practices and cross-platform collaboration for security implementation. Excellent knowledge and understanding of Oracle Database structures and supporting infrastructure. Performance tuning Pulling from experience and existing skills to create better efficiencies through automation and scripting. Responsibilities Full stack ownership of multiple Oracle database clusters and GRID infrastructure. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design, delivery, implementation, maintenance, management, forecasting, and security of the mission critical Oracle database stack. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, incident management, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Complete understanding of the Oracle database and Grid technologies. Ability to triage incidents with available trace and log files. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the United States only Hiring Range: from $87,000 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
