Minimum Qualifications 8 years of experience building, maintaining, forecasting, securing, and troubleshooting RDBMS and GRID across multiple clusters. Proficient in Computer Science concepts Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, Perl and/or Shell Scripting Experienced at building, maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting highly available database clusters, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Experience with production operations and best practices for putting quality into all deliverables and troubleshooting issues when they arise. Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations) Understand the end-to-end Oracle RDBMS/GRID configurations, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics. Excellent knowledge of Oracle Databases and the interaction between the RDBM/GRID with Exadata. Excellent understanding and ability to manage Oracle Database structures, components, tuning standards, design practices, and incident investigation. Experience with on-prem Exadata 8m and 9m with experience of OCI and working understanding of OCI architecture, Autonomous Databases, and ExaCS is a plus. Responsibilities Full stack ownership of multiple Oracle database clusters and GRID infrastructure. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design, delivery, implementation, maintenance, management, forecasting, and security of the mission critical Oracle database stack. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, incident management, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Complete understanding of the Oracle database and Grid technologies. Ability to triage incidents with available trace and log files. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the impact of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies.
