Senior Tax Accountant
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision calculations, financial statement disclosures as well as SOX documentation
- Facilitate the preparation of federal, state and local tax returns, extensions and estimated payments by working with outside consultants
- Review federal, state and local income tax returns once prepared
- Prepare taxable income projections used to forecast cash taxes payable for federal, state, and local taxing jurisdictions
- Prepare book to tax differences (depreciation, UNICAP, etc.)
- Analyze and maintain tax fixed assets
- Provides support for IRS and state audits
- Resolve and respond to state tax notices
- Prepare tax journal entries
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for tax accounts
- Assist with the monitoring and analysis of new tax laws, regulations, and court cases to ensure the Company's compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Maintains a positive attitude; works with a sense of urgency; demonstrates timely and thorough execution
- Possesses the ability to handle multiple tasks and shift priorities with the demands of the business
- 3 years of federal and state corporate tax experience at a large public accounting firm or industry
- Onesource Tax Provision experience a plus
- Bachelor's in Accounting Required and Master's Degree in Accounting Preferred
- CPA or CPA eligible preferred
