About The Position:
The Administrative Services Officer position in the Recreation and Parks Department is a professional level position with a full range of administrative support duties ranging from human resources transactions such as hiring new employees and monitoring performance evaluations, to duties in support of the department's budget process. The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience with human resources management, including recruitment and hiring, evaluation and discipline.
  • Experience with budget preparation, coordination, presentation and monitoring.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an effective collaborative style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and making presentations to councils, boards, or similar governing bodies.
  • Effective and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing effective work teams.
  • A Bachelor's Degree (or the equivalent), preferably in public/business administration or closely related field.
