ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS Non-rotating 40 hour work week; Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
The position of Intake Specialist is designed to assist the public with any questions they may have regarding Auto Theft and Burglary to Motor Vehicle cases. The position requires screening all phone calls and walk-ins to determine the best course of action. Meet with Auto Theft Detectives and/or Assistant District Attorney for criminal case approval. Generate original and supplemental reports for crime victims of Auto Theft and Burglary of Motor Vehicles. Keep Detectives advised of additional leads, information, and messages received from witnesses, victims, or other agencies. Notify victims of recovered vehicles and provide storage information. Assist in salvage yard, vehicle, and trailer inspections by running checks for stolen remarks or their involvements in various data bases. Request surveillance video on UUMV, Burglary to Motor Vehicle, and Credit Card Abuse cases. Determine if videos are viable for the use of Crime Stoppers. Document Agency assists for grant purposes on contacting other agencies and/or business for reports, additional information, and surveillance videos. Assist in Public Awareness events. In addition, assist the Bureau Supervisor and Detectives with any other duties or assignment
Qualifications
Position requires an Associate's Degree and (2) two years of experience; however a combination of education and experience may be considered. A valid driver's license is required at time of hire. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
Closing Statement
Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.
This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
