Asset Servicing and Settlements Specialist - Capital Markets

Contract set till October - high potential for extension

Hybrid Model - 1-2x a week

Overview:

As an Asset Servicing and Settlements Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our organization. Your responsibilities will revolve around managing the post-trade processes related to securities transactions, ensuring accurate and timely settlements, and overseeing asset servicing activities to support our clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Settlement Processing:
  • Execute and monitor settlement processes for securities transactions (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.).
  • Coordinate with counterparties, custodians, and brokers to ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades.
  • Resolve trade discrepancies and failed settlements promptly.
  • Corporate Actions Management:
  • Monitor corporate actions (dividends, stock splits, mergers, etc.) affecting client portfolios.
  • Coordinate responses to corporate actions, including notifications, elections, and entitlement calculations.
  • Ensure accurate adjustments to client positions based on corporate event outcomes.
  • Client Servicing:
  • Address client inquiries related to settlements, corporate actions, and income processing.
  • Liaise with clients, custodians, and internal teams to provide accurate and timely responses.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with financial instruments like equities, bonds, and derivatives.
  • Proven experience (2 years) in asset servicing, settlements, or a similar role within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of securities operations, including trade lifecycle and post-trade processes.
  • Familiarity with corporate actions, income processing, and reconciliation activities.
  • Proficiency in using settlement systems, trade platforms, and financial databases.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SEC, FINRA, etc.) governing asset servicing and settlements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, pivot tables)
  • Familiarity with SWIFT messaging and other industry-standard communication protocols.
  • Broadridge Experience

Working Conditions:

This role typically operates within a standard office environment, with regular business hours. However, flexibility may be required during peak trading periods or to accommodate global markets. The position involves collaboration with various teams, including trading, portfolio management, compliance, and client services.
