Great Hill is seeking an IT Project Manager to support our government client in the National Capital Region. This position supports a large Department of Defense (DoD) IT program as part of the Program Management Office (PMO) through projects/initiatives as directed by the Government. The candidate must have 8 years of managing legacy system modernization projects involving all aspects of program/technical project management. In addition to program/project management skills, the candidate will have the technical knowledge needed to provide oversight and guidance to the military departments responsible for executing their projects. A prior history of managing projects involving at least two of the following technical areas is required: 1) legacy mainframe modernization and application consolidation/rationalization; 2) data, business process and compliance management; and 3) DoD acquisition regulation and DoD supply chain concepts. One key requirement is that the candidate must be proactive in working any task to support the team, as the program and various project teams are very dynamic and are staffed by contractor resources from different companies as well as civilians. Skills must include a strong communication ability in order to effectively lead a team and manage team dynamics in pursuit of mission execution.
