**Business Line Description:**

* NXP's MCU/MPU Engineering (MME) team is a central engineering organization responsible for developing and delivering Systems-on-a-Chip (SoCs) for NXP's Automotive, Edge, and Radar Processing business lines. MME's Functional Safety team produces functional safety solutions covering the very wide-range of SoC solutions required by the business lines. The team is challenged to produce industry-leading functional safety solutions covering very cost-sensitive, low power devices to highly-integrated, high performance, multi-domain devices compliant with the latest automotive and industrial safety standards.

**Job Summary:**

* Deliver state of the art functional safety products to Automotive and Industrial markets compliant with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

* Manage the SoCs developed as SEooC through its entire lifecycle (including post-production customer support), working in close collaboration with SoC Design Teams.

* Prepare the safety products for functional safety assessment and certification.

* Lead safety requirements management and traceability

* Lead model based on safety architecture definition in SysML

* Support customer safety design win and design in activities for MPU safety products

**Key Challenges:**

* Excellent working knowledge of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.

* Experience in complex SoC development compliant to ISO26262: Part 11.

* Experience with Safety Audits/Assessments.

* Experience in Safety Analysis Techniques (FTA, DFA, FMEDA), Fault Injection.

* Experience in safety use case analysis to derive system/SoC safety requirements from customer safety requirements and application use cases

* Experience in modeling, requirements management and safety analysis tools.

* Proven track record of leading SoC functional safety products through all lifecycle phases and ensuring safety standard compliance

**Cross functional aspects:**

* Contribute to the functional safety expert community within NXP to improve our processes, our product features and our marketing of these features to our customers.

* Organize and lead cross functional teams to achieve compliance to functional safety standards and procedures.

* Conduct safety reviews to ensure correct implementation of safety features in HW & SW to ensure that design development has followed the right development processes.

* Report to management on compliance status, gaps and mitigation actions.

* Support NXP Customers to use Safety work products developed by NXP Safety Team.

**Job Qualifications:**

* BS in Electrical Engineering or other similar discipline with at least 15 years of relevant experience.

* Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 10 or more years of experience preferred.
