A day in the life Devops Intern As a DevOps Intern you will work closely with our DevOps team to support our cloud infrastructure development and deployment process. The intern will follow DevOps best practices, work with automation tools, and cloud computing platforms. Responsibilities Work with the platform team to support the cloud infrastructure provisioning and maintenance Assist in automating build, test, and deployment processes using automation tools Assist in configuring monitoring and alerting for cloud infrastructure and applications Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the cloud infrastructure Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and scalability Create and maintain documentation of systems and environments Use version control system (Git) to check automated tests into CI/CD pipeline to continuously run automated testing Qualifications Recent grad or pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field Hands on experience with Python and/or .NET Exposure to development tools like Visual Studio Code, Github Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure (Virtual Machines, Object storage) Basic understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts Detail oriented, with excellent communication, and interpersonal skills Strong analytical skills coupled with technical curiosity Data Science Intern As a Data Science Intern on the Data Platform National Team, you will under close supervision, develop quantitative models and statistical analyses for insurance risk modeling. This position assists in research of economic factors, performs a variety of basic financial and statistical analysis and supports the development of new, market-leading analytics-based tools to help clients assess and mitigate risk. Responsibilities Assists in the development of new, market-leading analytics-based tools to assess risk Performs basic quantitative modeling and statistical analysis in order to assess risk and viability of risk mitigation solutions Supports building Data Science models. This includes understanding business problems, determining structured and unstructured data needs and availability, building predictive and/or Machine Learning models, and finalizes with results that unlock insight for clients and colleagues Demonstrates skill with statistical analysis, data exploration, and research techniques Maintains a basic awareness of ongoing research in the field of Data Science and ML/AI Supports team members in designing analytical models and processes to help internal and external clients quantify and mitigate risks Qualifications Recent grad of pursuing bachelor's or Master's Degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related field Interested in pursuing designation from the Casualty Actuarial Society Developing knowledge of Machine Learning and statistical modeling techniques Knowledge of Natural Language Processing: sentiment analysis, name entity recognition, text classification, etc. Detail oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of Python programming language including Pandas and NumPy packages R, SQL, or VBA may be helpful but not required Exposure to development tools like Visual Studio Code, Github Familiar with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS (Virtual Machines, Object storage) Data Analytics Intern This position is for an intern in Data & Analytics who, under close supervision, assists in the design and implementation of innovative Business Intelligence solutions. This intern also assists in the development of new, market-leading analytics-based tools to help with decision making and assess risk Responsibilities Collaborate with data engineering and analyst teams to extract, transform, and load data from various data sources Contribute to building data architecture and pipelines to support business analysis, data science initiatives, and customer reporting needs Perform basic quantitative modeling and statistical analysis in order to assess risk and viability of risk mitigation solutions Support the understanding of business problems with the broader goal of creating an approach that starts with determining structured and unstructured data needs and availability, build predictive and/or Machine Learning models, and finalizes with results that unlock insight for clients and colleagues Support team members in designing analytical models and processes to help internal and external clients quantify and mitigate risks Qualifications Recent grad or is pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Data & Analytics, Computer Science, or related field Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the time of application and start date Detail oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of modern programming languages such as Python Knowledge of Relational and NoSQL databases and cloud platforms like Azure Exposure to development tools like Visual Studio Code, Github Experience with R, VBA, or SQL may be helpful but not required Valuable benefits.
