Summary

The primary responsibility of the Inventory Control Supervisor (ICS) is to establish, maintain, improve efficiencies, and assist in the areas of Receiving, Shipping and Work Order Picking, leading to improvements in on time performance of department parts flow and services to internal and external customers.

Reports To: Inventory Control Manager

Essential Roles and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must be able to create and maintain cohesive and collaborative work environment.
  • Daily direct supervision of Inventory Control Leads, Storekeepers and Truck Driver personnel for the coordination of activity related to shipping, receiving and inventory activities at KHS USA facility.
  • Assists with ensuring daily completion of inbound goods receipts, put-a-ways/storage, picking to outbound production and spare parts orders.
  • Works with department manager and Inventory Control Lead personnel in identifying and incorporating strategic initiatives to improve department work performance; supports the implementation of process improvements
  • Establishes and maintains order and organization in the stockroom; makes recommendations and assists with planning layout of stockroom and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and frequency of material movement.
  • Assists Inventory Control Manager with the administration of the annual physical inventory and cycle count program. Monitors and reconciles inventory variances to ensure process compliance and to seek improvements.
  • Instructs employees on methods to ensure the preservation of goods which are received, stored and shipped.
  • Reviews records for accuracy and compliance with procedures to ensure employee comprehension and application.
  • Creates and maintains training documents that capture the procedures for all workflow streams.
  • Conducts training, mentors, coaches and develops employees to ensure compliance to policy and procedures.
  • Collaborates with Inventory Control Lead personnel to establish daily work schedules, and to ensure completion of expedited workflows.
  • Responsible for coordinating the timely distribution of parts to the assembly departments utilizing the production schedule and SAP/EWM Warehouse Monitor
  • Assists Inventory Control Manager in establishing, monitoring and upholding Key Performance Indicators related to Inventory Control and CIP Initiatives.
  • Works closely with Production Control, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Production Work Center personnel to ensure timely and accurate distribution of parts for assembly, orderly presentation of parts at assembly, and prompt return of parts to inventory.
  • Works and collaborates with other departmental managers and employees to provide support with inventory, shipping, and receiving related activities.
  • Works closely with Logistics to ensure that all projects (new machines and conversions) are shipped compliant, on time and in full.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Provide direction and guidance to Inventory Control Personnel. Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training personnel; Daily planning of workflow, approving timecards and time off; appraising performance; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience Requirements

Associate degree; five years of experience with inventory and logistics in a manufacturing environment; two years of experience leading employees or a combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, and the ability to write correspondence and memos. In addition, the employee has to possess the skills to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Mastery of MS Office applications. Ability to demonstrate proficiency in the KHS USA enterprise resource planning system within a reasonable period of time.
