Job Title: Training and Development Specialist
Location: Waterloo, IA
Salary Range: Salary: USD $25.00 $28.00 / hr
ResponsibilitiesThis role performs various activities within the training and development area. This is the first level of specialist and typically possesses prior generalist experience or a degree in education and training. It will support 5S activities, including:
  • Collaborating with Drivetrain teams to identify 5S/visual factory opportunities and solutions
  • Working with operations to execute monthly 5S audits in production and non-production areas and defining corrective actions
  • Implementing 5S improvements that align with factory initiatives
  • Providing training on 5S/visual factory requirements
  • Creating factory signs and labels to support 5S needs
  • Managing and executing print room requests for Waterloo Operations
  • Participating in Rapid Continuous Improvement (RCI) events and Day in the Life (DITL) activities
Education RequirementsPrefer at least 2-year degree in any field or equivalent work experience
Required Skills
  • Must have previous Kaizan or 5S project work.
  • Must have great computer and communication skills.
  • Previous print room experience is preferred.
  • Ability to run vinyl printer.
  • Prefer experience with PowerBI.
Major Duties Include
  • Investigates training and development needs of employees in support of training needs analysis or other such projects.
  • Based on needs analysis, develops training proposal and/or other development activities designed to close gaps related to employees' knowledge, skills or behavior competencies.
  • Coaches managers and employees on training and development opportunities that relate to the identification of development needs and are consistent with Enterprise objectives.
  • Assists with the development of training and development programs as well as the delivery of such programs. May develop basic programs or straightforward job related skills training.
  • Also, is certified to deliver various courses developed within the Company such as Train the Trainer courses or those courses obtained externally.
  • Prepares instructional materials and job aids for courses.
  • Administers scheduling of training facilities, the reporting of training hours and other related administrative duties in the training area.
  • Implements training requirements related to Enterprise projects such as Performance Management or Succession Planning.
