Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Cloud Networking Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud networking technologies, with an emphasis on IPv6 networking, network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Practical cloud experience is crucial, and the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain the DOT’s IPv6 cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security. The role also involves managing and administering cloud networking components.

Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience, or Certifications:

• At least 8 years of experience with Cloud and network technologies.
• Strong cloud experience is a must-have, AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of IPv6 addressing, routing, and subnetting.
• Familiarity with NAT64 and DNS64 translation services.
• Hands-on experience managing dual-stack networks.
• In-depth understanding of network security principles and practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of at least one Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tool such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Professional Architect Certification within either AWS or Azure.

Job Role Specific Requirements: (Core Responsibilities and Duties)

• Perform day-to-day activities required to manage cloud services, utilizing a broad set of tools to manage and administrate cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Solutions should be imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organizational objectives.
• Produce Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or Configuration as Code (CaC), delivering solutions with a code-first approach, including sufficient comments and structure.
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive IPv6 strategy for a multi-cloud environment, including migration plans and IPv6 adoption roadmaps.
• Implement advanced security measures for IPv6 networks, including firewall policies, intrusion detection systems, and DDoS management.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of IPv6 networking solutions.
• Manage and administer cloud networking components, including but not limited to VPCs, subnets, Load Balancers, and Security Groups.
• Provide technical guidance to Cloud team members and modal partners on the implementation of IPv6 networking in cloud environments.

Experience and Certification Requirements:

• At least 8 years of experience with Cloud technologies.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience designing, planning, and integrating cloud computing systems, possessing advanced cloud computing skills and knowledge.
• Foundational level certification from a Cloud Provider.
