**Position Highlights**

Primary coordinator for managing and developing graduate student volunteer and outreach engagement in the Tucson community including the Returning Peace Corps (RPCF) Coverdell Fellows Program . The Program Coordinator ( Student Support Specialist II) will be responsible for recruitment, financial assistance, and placement of Master's and doctoral degree seeking students in paid and/or for-credit Tucson community positions in regional profit or non-profit agencies/corporations. The Program Coordinator (Student Support Specialist II) will work in partnership with the dynamic team in the Graduate College Graduate Center where graduate student services is a priority. .

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Coordinator Responsibilities:**

* Liaison with U.S. Peace Corps Office and regional non-profit or for-profit agencies/corporations

* Develop and manage applications and placement for assistantship and internship positions in the Tucson community

* Coordinator application review committees of faculty, staff, student, and community members

* Create award and denial letters; create GA offer letters

* Manage website and page content in concert with the Graduate Center website

* Supervise graduate student office assistants annually selected to produce newsletters and communications with selected Coverdell Fellows

* Assist Coverdell Fellows with social gatherings to create sense of community

* Supervise end of semester evaluation for any outreach assistantship positions

* Troubleshoot student problems and triage with Graduate College and Graduate Center staff as needed

* Assist with mentoring, professional development, and outreach activities pertinent to student/program.

* Annual reporting to U.S. Peace Corps and to supervisor of number of students served, placed, and number of student hours worked in community

* Manage financial aspects related to Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows Program.

* Other duties as assigned

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Knowledge of UAccess Student and Financial Systems

* Knowledge of UA fiscal policies and procedures

* Knowledge of graduate student policies and procedures

* Skill in organizing work

* Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally

* Attention to details with a corresponding high level of accuracy

* Ability to work as a member of a team

**Minimum Qualifications**

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required AND three years of

relevant work experience

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Experience with working with or in the non-profit sector and/or NGOs

* Experience developing and managing volunteer and/or internship programs and opportunities

* Personal volunteer or internship experience

* Six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience
