Description
We are looking for a skilled, professional Bartender to welcome and interact with our members, getting to know their needs and personal preferences in order to provide superior service and make recommendations. Our Bartenders prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for our members, selecting and mixing ingredients and adding garnishments. Other duties include maintaining an immaculate bar area, checking identification, following Club procedures related to limiting excessive drinking, cleaning and organizing storage areas and assisting with monthly inventory. If you are high-energy, have an engaging and friendly personality, and are observant and knowledgeable, this could be the job for you!
Requirements
Successful applicants will:
- Have a working knowledge of standard drink recipes
- Have a working knowledge of spirits, wine and beer
- Understand classes of alcohol, different glasses, brand names and garnishments
- Have a working knowledge of bar equipment
- Have basic math and computer skills
- Be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, weekends and late hours (closing time may be as late as midnight)
- Be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, etc. for extended periods of time
- Be able to lift up to 35 pounds
- Have a current Illinois food handler certification, or be willing to earn certification within seven (7) days of hire
- Have a current Illinois BASSET certification, or be willing to earn certification within seven (7) days of hire
Knowledge and education in mixology is not a requirement, but is an advantage
