To be successful, you would need to do the following:
- outstanding client service and communication,
- communicate with opposing counsel (usually prosecutors, US attorneys, and their staff),
- legal research with Westlaw,
- draft legal pleadings, including motions, briefs, appearances, notices, discovery demands, etc.,
- draft letters and emails,
- be a team member, including being assertive, sharing ideas, and suggesting approaches to lawyers and partners,
- be reliable and dependable,
- assist with proofreading and writing, and
- help with the firm’s website (proofreading, blogging, etc.).
