This facility, GlobalWafers America, will be the most advanced in the GlobalWafers family and will be the new base for future expansions. Lab Technician: Performs functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data to assist in assessing and documenting results of quality assurance and control processes. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments.

Job Functions

  • Ability to work in one or more test functions/types
  • Prepare test samples involving cleaving, etching, microscope inspection, furnace work – manual loading & unloading
  • Provide technical skill for operation for one or more techniques including ICPMS, SPV, AFM, Microscope defect identification
  • Train on other lab processes is a requirement
  • Enter data into MES System (WCS)
  • Respond to out-of-control signals for lab metrology (SPC)
  • Perform or assist with preventative maintenance and calibrations as required by facilities/equipment
  • Conduct or receive training to increase lab resource flexibility
  • Assist with development or improvement of test methods by conducting MSA studies, document/revise procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Applies technical skills to perform laboratory testing and analysis for GWA. Assist lab supervision and Engineers with sustaining, developing, and improving testing processes, procedures and equipment in a 24 hour / 7 days operation environment
  • Work with internal engineering

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in science or a relevant field of study or equivalent
  • One or more years related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in science or in relevant field of study or equivalent
  • One or more years related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Display initiative/self motivation and accept responsibility for own actions to get the job done under indirect supervision
  • Complete assigned tasks with reliability, honesty in timeliness
  • Willingness to work overtime during same shift, different shifts and normal days off
  • Effectively utilize available and relevant technical tools and resources (e.g., Microsoft Office, other software or hardware, manufacturing systems and equipment, etc.)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to explain general job-related information to supervisor and coworkers and possibly others
  • Providing support for manufacturing services
  • Fine motor skills are required to prepare solutions and clean labware

Work Environment

  • Cleanroom lab environment
  • A, B, C, or D Shift (to be assigned)
  • Exposed to moderate noise level
  • Working with hazardous chemicals
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Physical Abilities

• Light sedentary office work

• Minimal lifting (<=30 lbs.) may be required
